Why I built this
A quick note on what Rank Your Restaurant is and where it came from.
I kept noticing the same thing: independent restaurants with genuinely great food were getting buried in search results behind places with worse food, worse service, and better Google profiles.
That felt backwards. And the more I looked into it, the more I realized the gap wasn't about budget or technical expertise — it was about a handful of specific things that nobody had ever explained to these owners in plain English. Most of the fixes take an afternoon. Almost none of them cost money.
So I built the RYR Method — five pillars that together cover everything that actually affects whether your restaurant shows up when someone nearby searches for what you serve. I turned it into a free checklist first, because the checklist is what most owners need before anything else: a clear list of what to look at, in priority order, with a plain-English explanation of why each item matters.
The full step-by-step guide is coming next. It takes everything in the checklist and walks through exactly how to do each item — platform by platform, field by field, with real examples rather than vague advice.
This isn't an agency pitch. I'm not going to offer to do it for you (though I'm building a directory of vetted local agencies who can, if that's what you need). This is a resource for owners who want to understand what's going on with their own visibility and fix it themselves.
If you have questions, feedback, or something in the checklist that doesn't make sense for your situation — hit reply on any email or reach out directly. I read everything.
